Make this a year of gratitude. Seek his face for direction and not just his hand for things. If you are led by the Spirit the lines will fall unto you in pleasant places. Do not let your relationship with God be a transactional thing let him be your Shepherd leading you aright.
This year run your race. Find out what the heavenly goals of this year are, then turn your face away from others to focus solely on your objective. Confess its fulfillment with every conscious thought about it. Adversity is not the problem it’s distraction. Let no one distract you.

In these last few days of the year, I will suggest you spend more time praising God for the entire year and the way things went. Even if you don’t understand all the events and some had the element of pain in them, give him thanks. God is always at work beyond our understanding.
